The covered escalator that was on Albion Street.
A separate thread about a building on Albion Street got me to look at the Google Street View (GSV) of the area. Though most of the views are recent a view containing the covered escalator on Albion Street from the Boar Lane end came up when moving around GSV. I thought for interest I would post this image that I've taken from GSV to remind what the escalator looked like. The view is dated © 2015 and has © 2014 watermarks but the escalator was demolished a few years back. Some GSV's are clearly not updated as often as nearby ones! The area on the left that has the then Bond Street/Leeds Shopping Plaza covered walking area next to Boar Lane looks very different now.

Re: The covered escalator that was on Albion Street.
I hate to disagree but my streetview (via a chrome browser) shows an image from Apri 2015 by default. There is a clock with a down arrow in the top left hand corner which dates it. If you click on the drop down arrow you can choose, if they exist, previous street view images at the same spot. The choices here appear to be September 2009 and June 2008. June 2008 has the image you have reproduced above. Further along Boar Lane there is also a 2012 image where the Bond Street centre frontage is boarded up.
I suspect you started on Albion Street which presumably due to not being a proper road (pedestrianised) was only covered in the 2008 pass and then as you moved you were kept on the same time line. Try again dropping onto Boar Lane and I suspect you will see the more modern view

Re: The covered escalator that was on Albion Street.
I was not using the 2008 timeline and was using the currently available 2015 GSV for the area (which included views of and from Boar Lane). It was only when I changed one angle of view from Boar Lane that the scene with the old escalator came up, so it is a 'problem' with GSV not anything that I'm doing wrong. I use IE 11 but the same thing also happens there when I use Firefox browser. I do state in my first post that the GSV had © 2015 though the view used has © 2014 in its watermark which is incorrect unless I am wrong in thinking when the escalator was demolished.tyke bhoy wrote:I hate to disagree but my streetview (via a chrome browser) shows an image from Apri 2015 by default.
