Are the Town Hall clocks undergoing maintenance?
On checking what the time was when I near Leeds Town Hall today (Sept 10 2015) the clock showed 12:00. Looking again soon after it still showed 12:00 so I began to be suspicious and waited for a few minutes and it did not change. I then noticed that the two clocks that I could see from the Calverley Street and The Headrow junction both showed 12:00. I took these photos at just gone 12:15 (my camera clock is correct!). Having finished what I had to do I happened to look again at 13:30 and the clocks still showed 12:00. I guess the clocks (I only saw the two faces) are undergoing maintenance but I wonder if it had just started or has it been going on for a while? It's confusing when clocks are wrong!

- The clock on The Headrow frontage of Leeds Town Hall incorrectly showing 12:00 (it was just gone 12:15) on September 10 2015. Probably undergoing maintenance.

Hi Leodian,
I'm pretty sure that the Town hall clocks have been at "High Noon" for a few weeks now. Seems very strange doesn't it ??

There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

According to the Leeds Council Twitter account (posted on the 18th August), it's being repaired: https://twitter.com/LeedsCC_News/status ... 5327256577. They normally set the time on clocks undergoing maintenance to 12:00 as I suppose it's a neutral setting to sort out the mechanism.
