Incidentally, while I was taking the photos on February 3rd I was asked if I knew what was going at the site so I told them a brief account of what I knew which they seemed pleased to hear. It was nice that someone was interested enough to ask.
PS. While typing this I accidentally knocked over a chocolate milk shake on the table and found that with it being so thick the milkshake was extremely hard to clean up . Memo to self - don't ever spill a milkshake again! It could have been worse I suppose if it had gone on the carpet!

There has been a change in the appearance of the site since I took the photos on February 3 2015 and posted that day. I took the two photos here on February 6. The first is a view of the outside work in which there is a new structure on the right (that pesky Sun again got in the way again!). The second is a photo I managed to take inside the Dark Arches at as far as it was possible to go coming from Neville Street before the authorised people only area. Some arches there have been converted into offices for use while the work is going on for the LSSE. I would guess that when the LSSE is open those offices may become commercial sites.

You only have to look at how congested (and abused) the existing drop off point at the other side of the station before you start to wonder how the layout from Neville Street under the Dark Arches and back into Water Lanewould cope with this..?

Yes its currently bad enough with the drop off / pickup zone for the Double Tree Hotel which will practically next door to the entrance

I'm not sure it will. I think the plan is to take it up to the higher level crosswalk although there maybe an intermediary stop on 17.
As already mentioned in replies to you it is intended to be a pedestrian only entrance and should see a reduction on the vast "herd" of commuters walking southbound on Neville Street from around 7:30 through to 9:00 and the nortbound flow from 4:00 - 6:00 to/from Holbeck village and surrounds. The one unknown factor to me at least is how many of thesecommuters arrive in the vicinity of City Square on a train or are dropped by bus or car-share partner.
I also torn on the likely level of demand for drop-off pick up at the southern entrance as due to the configuration of the loop and adjacent one way systems it would only be of benefit to those approaching from the south/southeast and wishing to reverse that journey on the way out meaning at present Whitehall Road Globe Road and Water Lane back to Great Wilson Street

The shape of the Leeds Station Southern Entrance (LSSE) over the River Aire where that comes out at the Dark Arches is becoming more obvious now, as seen in these two photos. I took the first on Feb 10 and the second on Feb 12.
Something that intrigues me is why is it called 'Entrance' as that implies there will be no exiting there! I guess LSSEE (LSS Entrance/Exit) might be a bit long, as probably also would LSSAE (LSS Access/Egress). I've tried LASSIE but have not quite got that to figure out .
