Bank hol weekend viewing- over the years I've dipped into parts of my 'Beiderbecke Trilogy, 21st Anniversary 6 Disc Set' mainly for fave episodes to avoid current tv listings.I hadn't actually read what the box contained until todayThere are complete and uncut:-1 The Beiderbecke Affair [transmitted 1985]2 The Beiderbecke Tapes [transmitted 1987]3 The Beiderbecke Connection [transmitted 1988]4 Get Lost [transmitted 1981] All 4 episodes of the precursor series to Beiderbecke5 Soundtrack CD. Fifteen tracks, played by 'The Franki Ricotti All Stars and featuring Kenny Baker on Cornet. Includes main theme by Bix 'Cryin all day'.+Archive interviews with Bolam, Flynn and Plater+Booklet on the making ofSo that's a music CD I've had for a few years and never listened to but more importantly the entire precursor series Get Lost which led to Beiderbecke. Not bad value

It’s been 21 years since the public’s imagination was first hooked on The Beiderbecke Affair - the initial instalment in what was to become Alan Plater’s award winning trilogy of comedy-thrillers starring James Bolam and Barbara Flynn. They play Trevor Chaplin and Jill Swinburne, two reluctant teachers who are drawn into a web of intrigue when Trevor is paid a mysterious visit by a slightly-gorgeous platinum blonde. Since that moment The Beiderbecke Trilogy has maintained its position as one of the nation’s favourite television shows, with its easy-going plots, dryly-humorous dialogue, deftly-drawn characters and outstanding Jazz score by Frank Ricotti and legendary trumpeter Kenny Baker.

THE BEIDERBECKE AFFAIR
All Trevor Chaplin wants is a set of Bix Beiderbecke records. All Jill Swinburne wants is to stand for the council as an Independent candidate. So where does the dazzlingly beautiful platinum blonde come in..?

THE BEIDERBECKE TAPES
Dragged into the murky world of national security, Jill and Trevor find themselves pursued and threatened by sinister grey men. But all Trevor wanted was a tape of Bix Beiderbecke music!

THE BEIDERBECKE CONNECTION
Trevor and Jill are back - this time with a baby in tow! Taking their family addition for a walk they bump into Big Al, who asks them for a favour...

SPECIAL FEATURES
[] Get Lost: All four episodes of the precursor series to The Beiderbecke Trilogy, starring Alun Armstrong and Bridget Turner as two teachers trying to enjoy a half-term break.
