Was that the Middle School?I went to Briamwood Middle School in the mid 70's and we we spent a year sharing Middlethorne Middle School while Braimwood was stripped of asbestosMiddlethorne did a morning shift and we were shipped in for an afternoon shift. Middlethorne seemed very modern (no blackboards but wipeboards, video players, open plan class rooms, tables rather desks etc).It was a relief to get back to Braimwood and portacabins in the playground!

A couple more lost schools are Crossgates Primary School. The building as a whole was in the shape of a capital E. The southern most leg being the primary school. The rest of the building is still there but is now trunkated. Then there is, or was, St Thomas Aquinas and St John Bosco. Two schools on the same site, they merged in 1978 to form Cardinal Heenan and have since been pulled down and replaced with a new building.

Dont think the current headteacher, Mrs Hamer, would appreciate Crossgates Primary coming under the category "Leeds Lost Schools". After their recent good OFSTED, they continue to shine.

Long gone as I found walking down the cinder path to the railway track and nothing more than a dark outline on Google Earth. Wonder if you remember the old staff if you went there?

From Google maps I see there's a huge development happening on the playing fields of what was once Foxwood (my old) school in Seacroft. Can anyone tell me what's going on there? Also, from Google maps I see my 2 old junior schools have gone also, Coldcotes and Low Road. So much for visiting them when I return for a holiday.

What was the school that used to be where the new Chapeltown Police Station is now? I always remember going past there when I was younger, and there also being allotments on the same site. Apologies if it has been mentioned, but was it called Stainbeck Middle or something?

I took my kids to Pudsey last weekend on a Memory Lane trip (oh, how they loved it!) but I couldn't show them Waterloo Infants where I went to school - someone's nicked it! The junior school has morphed into something out of Blake's Seven, an'all!!

The nick is now called Stainbeck police station.

I'm sure it is still called Chapeltown, they Poluice still refer to it as that - Not that I am in contact with the police on a regular basis!
