Was that the Middle School?I went to Briamwood Middle School in the mid 70's and we we spent a year sharing Middlethorne Middle School while Braimwood was stripped of asbestosMiddlethorne did a morning shift and we were shipped in for an afternoon shift. Middlethorne seemed very modern (no blackboards but wipeboards, video players, open plan class rooms, tables rather desks etc).It was a relief to get back to Braimwood and portacabins in the playground!

A couple more lost schools are Crossgates Primary School. The building as a whole was in the shape of a capital E. The southern most leg being the primary school. The rest of the building is still there but is now trunkated. Then there is, or was, St Thomas Aquinas and St John Bosco. Two schools on the same site, they merged in 1978 to form Cardinal Heenan and have since been pulled down and replaced with a new building.

Long gone as I found walking down the cinder path to the railway track and nothing more than a dark outline on Google Earth. Wonder if you remember the old staff if you went there?

From Google maps I see there's a huge development happening on the playing fields of what was once Foxwood (my old) school in Seacroft. Can anyone tell me what's going on there? Also, from Google maps I see my 2 old junior schools have gone also, Coldcotes and Low Road. So much for visiting them when I return for a holiday.

Apologies if it has been mentioned, but was it called Stainbeck Middle or something? The school was called Scott Hall middle school (formerly Scott Hall county secondry school). The nick is now called Stainbeck police station.
