I recall that relatively recently there was a thread about Lion House on York Place or perhaps it was mentioned in another thread. I have tried various searches for thread/s with Lion House postings but I have failed miserably to find any (loads on pubs!!). I would be grateful if someone could please let my know where there are threads that mention Lion House. I was in the area today and saw Lion House.

Unfortunately it seems not to be mentioned in that thread, to which this is the link:- http://www.secretleeds.com/forum/Messag ... adID=5174I feel sure Lion House has been mentioned fairly recently, as when I saw it on York Place it reminded me that it has been mentioned on SL. I have added a photo that I took of Lion House today (April 1 2014 but not an April Fool joke).Edit added after posting. Thanks also Croggy1. I must type faster!

Hey there. If you use quotation marks in your search it will limit the results to just those containing the exact words inside the quotes.i.e. a search for "Lion House" will return only results with the phrase Lion House in them, as opposed to Lion House, which will return any page with either 'lion' or 'house' anywhere on it.So I did a search for "Lion House" with quotes and the only results are for this thread. Can you remember anything else that might have been mentioned in the thread you're looking for?

I am now doubting that it was in SL that I saw the mention of Lion House, though I know I have seen it mentioned somewhere! I have now thought that I might have seen it in Leodis, but I did not find it in a search I've just done. This is all getting very strange now!

This is another photo of Lion House that I took on April 1 2014 (not an April Fool joke).Edit after posting. Ooops, sorry for the large size. I clearly did not reduce the photo as much as I should have done.

As I work on York Place at number 31 (Tribunals Service),I am always interested in any thread that mentions it.I cannot recall any mentioning Lion House though although I recognise it.Leodis has pictures from the 1950's of the street which are worth looking at.

I have now found a photo in Leodis that seems to be the Lion House building but it is not named as such in the Leodis description. The photo is dated 9th August 1946 and this is a link to it:- http://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?reso ... Y=FULLEdit after posting. Hi Steve. We must have been about to post at the same time!

Until 2 years ago I worked in the building next door to Lion House, I'm sure I would have remembered it being mentioned in a thread....
