What is this and how long has it been derelict?

Their is a very faint Parcelforce sign on one of the buildings so as stated above, the Royal Mail with it's Parcelforce call centre were probably the last to occupy it, wasn't it the late 90s when they opened their Parcelforce distribution centre at Stourton? If so, then it's possibly been that long since it was occupied as it's likely a call centre most probably have been incorporated into the Stourton development. On a side note, I wonder why the solicitors accross the road don't put a bid in for it as it must be a crime hotspot for them and doesn't look good to potential or existing clients and other visitors.

Shulman solicitors are vacating their current building and moving to a brand new one at 10 Wellington Place later this year I believe.So I don't expect they will be putting an offer in for this eyesore.

Working nearby I've followed this building over the years and indeed in its later life up to closure the lower level of Bridge House was used by Parcel Force. There have been several proposals for the site, one at least for a tall replacement building which actually got as far as scaffolding being erected in readiness for demolition.Pictures of the Fire Service in attendance a while back have gone awol somewhere, will have another look.

No sign of the YEP in the picture, must have been taken in the late 60's at a guess.

Hi Johnny39 the car on the left at the lights is a Rover P4, and the white truck on the left is a Thames Trader, I used to drive the tow truck one which belonged to Tommy Tate of Tate Trucks.

As the Leeds Central train station closed in 1967 I wonder if the building on the right behind the waste ground was the station? I don't though recall it being so tall if it was.

The railway passenger station (Leeds Central) was much further away Leodian. If my memory is not playing up the long building you see with the multiple roof lights is the most recent (late 1950s) of the several goods sheds and warehouses in Wellington Street Goods Yard. The taller black building is the ex-NER granary. EDITED.
