Roughly same as me Jogon, too blurred to make out the name sadly.to search for an image using Google you go to the images bit ,if you click on the camera it gives you an option of uploading an image. If you do that it will then search and produce any matches or similar shots. It is useful if you want to see if anyone is using your pictures without permission!

Can Appleblossom rescan at least the top portion of the photo (with the board on) at a higher resolution perhaps?

I used a pre war Kelly's to find all the Catholic churches and did a google image search of them and none of the interiors look anything like the one in the picture.I was wondering if it was the undercroft of a church [like the Holy Rosary on Chapeltown Road] as opposed to the interior of the church itself or if it is a school hall. Churches, Catholic one's anyway, while they do display some odd things, don't tend to have things like honours boards / lists of past incumbents etc, etc or stuffed ducks! Also, it's missing the stations of the cross on the pillars or around the walls and the picture of the Madonna & child would be in a side chapel.Appleblossom, maybe one of your parents is in the photo. What years were they born? [although for your brother to be at school in the 50's, its clutching at straws for one of them to be a kid in the photo in the 40's]

My memory of the time I hazy now but I attended St Patricks RC school from 1955 to 1959and we had two halls , one above the other , which were big enough to fit the bill for this photo - a possible fit perhaps
