This is a photo showing the shop's frontage on Call Lane. I had to wait some while before I got a clear shot due to a car being stopped immediately in front of the shop for a while then also for traffic (mostly buses) stopped there for traffic lights! On the curved bit above the shop there seems to be 2 obscure words. I wonder if anyone knows what they say? The top one may end in 'TY' and the bottom one may end in 'AT'.

Cheers all . It does look as if it could state "Quality Meat".I've done a search of SL (not in-depth though) but did not readily find any information about a butchers shop there. I did however find this link to a photo dated November 22 1908 in Leodis that shows 9-11 Call Lane which are still recognisable as being the premises now used by Blue Rinse. Interestingly number 11 was then a butchers, but it is not the premises that has the curved feature with the obscured wording.http://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?reso ... SPLAY=FULL

Took a look today from across the road at various angles. Definitely "Quality Meat".
