You can see a tunnel entrance on the River Aire about 50m west of where the river goes under the station. It's fenced off and covered by vegetation. There's a large beam above it and a ramp immediately inside the arch suggesting its purpose was to hall boats or loads in some way. I'll try to post photos in a day or so.

There's a ramp directly inside the mouth of the tunnel and I'm guessing the heavy beam was used to help lift boats or goods from the river and into the arch towards the canal.

The one that should have been with my last message detailed what is probably the other end of what may be your tunneloff the canal.I can't immediately find it again, one of Phill's shots I think it was.

Hi guysBeen a member for a while now and decided I should really get active in this website lolI work at the station as a Guard for Northern Rail and I am very intrigued about all these tunnels under the station.Surely there must be some blueprints for the building work somewhere in storage. Perhaps the Town Hall, Library perhaps?How do I get involved with some of these tunneling expeditions?Please let me know =D

Lol i meant info... tunnelling is where you would be excavating wouldn't it lolI would love to get involved in some of your Info Expeditions so I would buy as many pints as you require!
