There are four in Bay Horse Yard, off Briggate (next to County Arcade). There are new lamps in the lanterns, so not in their original condition. Two are shown on this picture.

I think it's a bit too late to get this one on camera...the pigeon seems to be enjoying it though. It's in Blayds Mews, which is off Briggate / Swinegate, near the back of the Travelodge.

I've never seen the yard myself... It has the oldest timber framed building in Leeds tho... Who fancies some investigating?

Here you go - http://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?reso ... fier=8619I remember going in it on a school trip about 20 years ago. It's the one on lower briggate on the left hand side as you walk down right next to the Railway Viaduct (opposite the Viaduct pub)

Yeh, our teacher got us access as part of a project i think but then he took us to a really bad yard a proper example of Victorian slums but i can't for the life of me remember where it was, memory tells me somewhere behind the corn exchange but i'm not sure where.

I have seen this building on Lambert's yard - tiered like many in York are - and supposed to be the oldest building in Leeds. I tried to get a photo of it on tuesday, but as you say its gated off - as is bay horse yard
