A bit of a magical mystery What&Where? for the Birthday, this time...I wonder if anyone will get this? There won't be any clues for a while, except to say that you won't get this by the usual methods! If anyone can get it before 29th, I'll buy them a pint at Sam's Chophouse.

I assume the cryptic clue means it is no longer standing.

That would appear to be something from the late 18thC perhaps to around 1820, so there will not be any photos, and I expect it isn't standing.I further predict that to find an image will involve looking in a Leeds History book.It has the same general shape as the original Queens hotel but that would be too late for this image, methinks.I'm also wondering if this was a proposed design for the Queens Hotel that didn't actually get built - hence the lack of photos.

We wanted to make Leeds a better place for the future - but we're losing it. The tide is going out beneath our feet.

I knew that trick but hadn't thought of using it on this. Now I have it looks like a peeler at the top of the steps. He wouldn't have walked there passing by so it suggests he is either exiting or guarding. Still not much more help though especially if it turns out to be a herring of the red variety
