This is a photo knocking about on facebook, no details, and I don't recognise the area at all. I thought it might be a good guess where, and see how today's comparison view looks. The old Melbourne painted sign looks a good one, and the route 25 another good clue??

Looks like the Stourton terminus by the Crooked Billet pub, with the entrance to the old tram depot, later bus depot, on the left.

Good suggestion Jim, It's worth trying to find some comparison photos then.I don't know why, but I can't imagine Stourton being like this today. All I can imagine is the rail sidings, and most of those have gone too. It's worth checking at the R.A.F photos, some of them cover Stourton.

Phil; The pub with the Melbourne ales sign is the Old Red Lion, coming towards the camera is the Fenton Arms & just to the right ( out of shot) would be the Crooked Billet

I would think that was pretty good indeed Jogon. The gable ends at the far end looking a good match. Another look on Leodis to see if a shot can be found a few yards on is in order

I totally missed your post before, it isn't the first time I've posted something to later find an extra reply has slipped in between. That's a perfect match, and great in colour too. I think the tram is one bought into Leeds, I know they bought cars from Hull and Southampton that looked similar with the curved dome roof.

Looking at your top photo Jogon I wondered where all the tracks fanning out went to.I never knew a tram depot was down there?

TaI couldn't get the image to show, no I didn't know they had one over there. But then I suppose with a Headingley/Chapel Allerton etc it figures. On the Hunslet web site they've a mega big one that even my eyes can see.
