A very familiar view to me coming in to Leeds from the east on the omnibus. Even on the tramcar a few years earlier.

One of the few W&Ws that I recognised! If it was still cryptic I would have said there is a bank connection. I only ever went in once, which was a very long time ago that I recall, on a pub crawl.

I was only getting half a photo on the old computer this is now rectified. I seem to recollect the "icehouse" being somewhere near the site where the glass building is located. I haven't lived in Leeds since 1979 so a lot of places I knew have altered in that time. For instance I didn't know The Lloyds Arms had been demolished.

It used to amuse me to get on a bus in East Leeds and ask for a "ticket to Mayfair"... ;-)
