I keep looking at the new threads when they are posted; maybe one day I'll recognise one.

Another LEODIS photo dated early 1975 which shows that Westgate Roundabout was a recent, rather than distant memory at that time.The picture also features - as does the FLICKR cine film in Phill D's post - the City Treasury building in the background.When this was vacated so that demolition could begin, it was the location of an occupation/sit-in (*) by a group of students/hippies/anarchists (*) which lasted several days. I can't remember what they were protesting about but think this might have been around 1984ish.(*) delete as appropriate

S&P thanks, yes it is Brotherton House, former Police HQ viewed from Westgate roundabout.Left of this view, and before the inner ring road was cut through.
