Cross - where the Golden Cross Pub wasCircle- where Leeds Terrace etc and Resurrection Cottage wasLine - the road in question. Here's the 1908 map on your screenshot [no more oblique shots, please!]. My atempt at perspective is based on the footprints of the buildings, not the rooflines. The two red building are the Golden Cross - not far off where you thought it was, and the Breakwater Hotel, Benson Street. The green one is the Eagle, still going.

It appears that the lower end of Scot Hall Rd. is now Sheepscar St. North.Streetmap shown here, also Google Maps, shows the same.http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=43 ... &A=Y&Z=106

Blown up version is not that much better as it is still a bit blurry. You can see the pub opposite midland bank quite well. If only that was the centre of the pic and we could see the rest of meanwood road on the left.I wonder if there are any other aerial views at the national archives, apparently there were a lot taken in the 1920'sThis is pre sheepscar st south - it's not there!

The "latest version" of Sheepscar Street North runs from Scott Hall Road at the junction with Buslingthorpe Lane, runs almost parallel with the original version. This is the only sign that I could find.http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=43 ... &A=Y&Z=106

Talking of where a named road begins/ends I wonder if many (like I did until not that long back) think North Street continues to the Sheepscar junction and then becomes Meanwood Road beyond. In fact on coming on North Street out of Leeds the short stretch of road on the right of the old bank (in front of the car wash) is the last bit of North Street. What might seem to be the last bit of North Street there is the first part of Meanwood Road, being initially a short stretch of main road to the left of the old bank. I hope that makes sense!

It is very confusing, but if you try to look at the old maps it does make it look clearer. One of the best maps is one from the 1940's/ 1950s. It is very detailed and can be found in the library. Cant exactly remember which one it is but is a very large scale and great for imagining how things were!

The pub is missing, but the colour quality photo more than merits inclusion.
