I don't expect any of our listeners to be old enough. For JA Grimshaw fans, the Church (though long gone) is the clue. If you know it, keep cryptic and let the 'lil uns have a go.And Caron

I'm fairly sure I know where it is, though with my record I'm probably wrong. The site on the left is currently number 1.PS. Nice to see the tram and tram lines/overhead wires. It's surely not a trolly bus and trolly bus overhead lines!

What a genius...I wouldn't mind owning a few of his paintings. Beautiful. Thanks for the link

The building on the left has been replaced twice since then. I believe the title of the building on the right is still around close by - twice!

Jim is correct. The old church in the photograph was taken down and a new one rebuilt just yards away.Atkinson Grimshaw painted the scene by moonlight in 1882. A very atmospheric picture - like many of his paintings

Park Row, the old cathedral at the top of St Annes.New one is on Cookridge Street. The old court house was on the left at one point long ago. Think they pulled it in the early 1900's and built what became the NU building. The site on the left is number one, but number 1 city square. 1 Park ROw is on the other side. The numbering system starts on the right and goes up numerically and then back down the other side at the Headrow jnctn.
