Not much in the neighbourhood now to lure the parishioners away from the path of righteousness. The temptation of Thomas Becket - well, his arms anyway - has been taken away and only people of a certain age would remember the Cat's Whiskers being the place to go for divine redemption.

Time was, maybe, when monks crossed over the nearby beck - but long before the Wesley brothers began a Christian movement of this church's denomination.

Fine cryptic stuff. Extra points for spotting, then being insouciant about it.Close by = East of a mountainous district in the Peloponnese of southern Greece. In poetic fantasy it represents a pastoral paradise and in Greek mythology it is the home of Pan. The mountainous district that is.Oh dear that's too cryptic.

CardieI saw you 'eyeballing' it as you passed and thought I'd best get in quick, grab the glory etc.It is a cutesy 'lil spire but, as Mrs J often says, size isn't everything.
