This photo (taken today, May 22 2012) shows a 1900 date on a building. I have had a look through the What & Where index but I did not find it so it may be a new one (apologies if it has been used before). As a clue it states 'AD' at the same height but further to the left on the building. I've found the building is in LS2, which did surprise me as I thought it would be LS1. I think I may be giving too many clues!

My censored street view and different angle of it, which I think might actually confuse instead of help...possibly

I checked before I posted this photo to see if it would be easy to spot in Street View but (as Phill's image shows) though the building can probably be identified the sign does not show well.

Your right there about the date stone being hard to see on street viewhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GCr1eTbxbw&fea ... atedThat's why I posted that angle

Looks like an old authority type of building possibly WoodHouse Lane area. Maybe an old school or college building.

Their 'Do Wah Diddy Diddy' was my favourite of theirs. I'm singing it in my head right now.

Yes, it is on the building on Rossington Street next to the Leonardo building. As I said in my first post I was surprised it is in the LS2 post code, as also for example is the Museum (the old Civic Theatre).
