I'd have got that one, if I'd looked in time... Were you stood on the bridge over the outflow / River Washburn? I tried to get down there last time I took some photos but was thwarted by locked gates and the like...

Get yourself up Saddleworth Moor and have a look at Booth Wood res Jogon. That's an interesting one, some lovely colours in it. It almost looks like some medieval gladiator arena, something you might see in planet of the apes perhaps. I took a close look at it, a few photos are mixed in herehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/phill_dvsn/sets/7 ... ail/Here's another interesting website with photos about the building of the M62 and reservoirs around ithttp://www.ciht.org.uk/motorway/m62bounpole.htm

Hiya you happy snappies!Yonks ago I saw on tele an actual village that can only be seen when the water is low. Do you know where it is? All I can remember is them showing the village and saying that the draining doesn't happen often. It surely has to be some reservoir? It's up north too not down here.Have you any pics or know where I'm on about? Hope so.Ta muchly

Some stonework remains (eg of the church) can still be seen during times of drought.
