Interesting. Found a couple of pictures on Leodis. Here they are...http://www.leodis.org/display.aspx?reso ... er=6946and at .....http://www.leodis.org/display.aspx?reso ... =6947These show 35 from the Museum front during the war years. It, meaning 35, was a Midland Bank.Interestingly, the narrative explains that the bank address was 33-35 Bond Street - so the 35 above the door is for Bond Street rather than Park Row. Unless of course the corner door signifies 35 for both BS and PR, which is a huge coincidence. But 35 would be correct for Park Row, being next to 36 which is the next building down towards City Square. So when the shopping page had the Woolwich at 33-35 Park Row it seems that they were incorrect. That building is 33-35 Bond Street.

there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

Here is a link to one of Clifford Stead's 1960's photographs which show again that Jamie's Italian was a city centre branch - and probably the main Leeds branch - of Midland Bank.....http://www.flickr.com/photos/cliffordst ... 6461/There are some great photographs in his selection.

Hope I've not missed something in this topic, but surely the building on the corner of Bond Street (now pedestrianised Bond Court) and Park Row was at one time The Leeds Skyrac and Morley Building Society ??
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

BLAKEY: Are are getting mixed up with this ?No uncle mick, definitely not - and that picture has me totally baffled too - is that building on the north side of Bond Street ??To return to Park Row/ Bond Street, I must of course be mistaken - old age tha' knows - but on further thought I seem also to remember the trading name changing from Leeds Skyrac and Morley to "TRUSTEE SAVINGS BANK" - Hopefully someone can clinch this one way or another eh ??
