This is one of those features that may be passed by often but just not spotted. Apart from knowing where it is I am however unsure what it is. It may be a strange chimney but I suspect it is just ornamental. The photo was taken on January 6 2012.

A rainbow is a ribbon that Nature puts on when she washes her hair.

This photo (taken on January 7 2012 when I wanted to check something when I was back in the centre of Leeds) shows the street sign that the building with the feature is partly at on the short bit of road that runs off New Briggate. I like that 'street sign'.

The hotel was the Parker Hotel, It was a renowned coffee house and temperance hotel. It was known as a radicals' meeting place, and nicknamed 'The Devil's Kitchen' because of the regular Saturday night debates there on religion and politics. I've No idea what the chimney design was for other than decorative.

Philinteresting photo, so to left is now Nash's Tudor F&C Restaurant (very nice too), straight ahead 4 chimneys The Wrens.Oppo this across Cross Belgrave St is a lovely looking mock tudor fronting onto New Briggate/North St signed 'Rothwells'?Looked good and helps understand how Grand Arcade was once fairly central pre inner ring rd.
