The building with this name on it may be often passed by but I wonder how many know where it is? I took the photo on November 14 2011.

Leodian I'll let others play the game so as they say on the BBC news on Saturday night look away now. Please only play the game without checking already covered on SL

Cheers tyke bhoy. I will have passed the building countless times but it was only recently that I spotted the name. For anyone still wondering where it is it is in LS1. PS. When they say on TV such as "If you don't want to know the score look away now" it's not much use when the announcer immediately says what the score was!

I thought I would give the answer. It is on Dackawell House on New Market Street. The photo (taken on November 14 2011) shows Dackawell House opposite the Corn Exchange.I have Googled the name but no information on Dackawell House was brought up and there does not seem to be any photos in the Leodis website based on a search I've done. I have though found a thread on Secret Leeds (SL) about Dackawell House that was posted by 'rangieowner' on 20-Aug-2007 but that thread has no likely true information on Dackawell House. This is the SL link
http://www.secretleeds.com/forum/Messag ... hLight=1It does look an interesting building.

Wow... 3 and half hours between posing a question and giving up that any one will know and posting the answer yourself! That must be a record.

Having received a fair number of views my assumption was that most will already know the answer and so I might as well say what it was for the probably few that did not know.

The London Gazette of 1904 does mention the liquidation of the Dackawell Tea company, but the address given was 29 Bond St, though possibly they went into liquidation before they could occupy their new building

The Edinburgh Gazzette 11 August 1896 refers to the Bankruptcy of the Tavernor Brothers, of Old Scott Hall Farm, Butchers.
