Where is this inscription in Leeds?

How well do you know Leeds?

I took the photo today (Nov 1 2011) of this not at all readily seen inscription on a building in LS1. Any thoughts on where it is? Apologies that there is a lot of blue space on the photo but it was hard to focus on the inscription (perhaps that there is a lot of blue on the building may help in identifying it!).Edit added shortly after posting. The image is a much reduced copy of the original photo but unfortunately it is still very large here.

A rainbow is a ribbon that Nature puts on when she washes her hair.

Wow that was quickly identified. I'm very impressed Cardiarms. You know at least the centre of Leeds well. . It is a nice looking building that is more or less opposite the Duncan pub. The photo here shows an inscription on the side of the building (getting that photo was even harder than getting the first).

And one of the date elsewhere on the Duncan Street frontage.

And finally a photo of the view of the building from Duncan Street that includes the side part where the Duncan Chambers is. The doorway to that is very photogenic but I've never been able to get one without cars or wheelie bins partially blocking the view of that.PS. The inscription in the first photo is just at the side at the lower right of the set of windows at the corner to Duncan Chambers above the blue area that is above the Ace sign. It is only a small inscription in relation to the building, which is why it was hard to get it in frame while zooming in. Well that's my excuse!

Actually 'Little Cardiarms' spotted it the other day. Poor mite, she has to put up with me pointing out 'objects of interest'. At least the other day she got to correct her teacher who claimed there were few air-raids on Leeds and Headingley was not hit at all. Cue hand at back, "Actually there were bombs on Cardigan Road...."

Cue hand at back, "Actually there were bombs on Cardigan Road...." About a year ago, one "quiet" Sunday morning I nipped round the corner to take a current photo of numbers 4/6/8/10 Cardigan Road which were severely damaged in the bombing - I took with me the picture I'd seen on the Internet. When I got there several new students were being moved in by their families and they were absolutely fascinated by the wartime picture. Top marks to little Miss Cardiarms !!
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

This is a photo I took of the Duncan Chambers doorway on January 13 2012. I managed to be there when there were no cars and/or wheelie bins blocking the view!
