Woof woof! mmm powers of deduction are called for! Portland stone perhaps? I reckon that after you visited the Leeds library on the Headrow you looked over the road & saw the statue on top of the peal chamber building opposite & pictured the end turret perhaps?

I've had a look @ my last guess. Although it's very similar it's not right. I wonder if it's the Town & country club instead.
