Ta Dah !Phill that was weird. We must take in much more that we are consciously aware of. It looked so familiar. I knew that I knew it, and I did.Your Capt Oates + song clue helped as did Hansel und Gretel which moved me back into the LS16 zone.I've done a grainy googstreetvw so as not to spoil the fun.

Oh go on then.http://g.co/maps/998qjAs you come down W'wood Ln (Hollies to your left) there's an s bend and as you straighten, on your right are the backs of (red brick) houses fronting onto Weetwood Ct. The corner house has a pre-existing stone wall with door and ornate grill above - the subject of this saga.Old pic att'd.I've come down there by most forms of transport and often noticed this clue to the past.

Well done indeed Jogon, I thought this was never going to be guessed, It's only yards away from the entrance to the Hollies. Yes I noticed it was one of the old gates into the bigger houses. I love that part of Leeds, real interesting, and that ginnel is my fave.I did a feature on it I don't know if you've seenhttp://www.secretleeds.com/forum/Messages.aspx ... age=75It's possible you've never even noticed that ginnel as you've past before.

Phill_dvsn wrote: Yes I've seen those in Harrogate Drapsey, lots of them on the Stray. I used to have a photo of them, I'll see if I still have it. There new ones and not as good in my opinion though.Well done Geoff, this bench is on Woodhouse Moor you can see herehttp://g.co/maps/ys97qAnyone know where the dragons can be found? I'd say they were about a mile from here further West. Blimey Phill, you must walk fast - how is Weetwood a mile from Woodhouse Moor? That's why I couldn't reconcile your clues with the location - I was looking at Holly Bank in Headingley

I was just trying to give a rough idea the dragons were in that side of Leeds but a little further away from the snake bench, you know give a rough idea and clue, without obviously pin pointing the area and defeating the object, so that's why I didn't give exact measurements, you get me

You are generally so precise with distances, I took it at face value! At one point, I had Lawrence Oates living in Burley
