They were reunited with their mother, who was near the Leeds Liverpool Canal. A nice heart-warming report that also suggests that duck numbers may be rising in the area. They are the most charming creatures for me - especially tiny offspring - and I love to see a "Darby and Joan" couple out for a swim or a waddle.
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

Spot the mallards and their ducklings (mallardings? goslings?) on the River Aire! I took this photo today (June 1 2012) from Leeds Bridge showing a group of 8 ducklings with 3 adult mallards and 1 other adult mallard to the far right. I took some zoomed in views but they did not come out at all well, but I shall post the least worse of those in my next post here.

This is the best of the poor closer-up view photos that I took. It shows 8 ducklings and 3 adult mallards. I hope the photo is acceptable enough quality to post, but apologies if it is not.
