Could this building be the one adjacent to the A64M flyover at bottom of Regent street(left hand side-leeds inbound) ? corner of Bell St.Have looked at street view in GE but it's not convincing though there are similarities.What do other SL'ers think ?If not I feel it ought maybe to be around this area.

I looked at this earlier, but could reconcile it with the photo of the shop.

It is, most likely has been demolished by now.

Not the city centre end and totall different windows but they can be changed. About the same size and the 'pillars on the corners are similar. What do you think?http://goo.gl/maps/pWbT

That is the one, I stand corrected.Corner of Skinner Lane.In the original the lorry is facing into Skinner Lane.The building has been altered of course, but the brick piers on the original match very accurately with the Google view.

When was Regent Street redeveloped? I've just noticed that all the buildings on the east side from that period have the chamfered corners.

This one used to be a Garage, poss. Arnold G Wilson.looks like it is from the 20's.. 30'shttp://goo.gl/maps/KB4A

Not to be pedantic, it is listed at I Regent Street in the 1939 Phone Book (see attachment)
