Even luckier, Tilly. The roof is green because it's made of copper. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think copper is worth a lot more than lead.I'm surprised that the copper porch roofs along Queenswood Drive have survived - they're a lot easier to reach!

siSad to say I have held back on posting a few what where's etc because on looking at the historic 'thing' to photo plaque they'd clearly had attempts to jemmy them off the wall/location.One of the saddest to me was the lovely Sanctuary Ring Door Handle at Adel Church. This was a bronze, cast in York circa 1200. What that must have seen.Replaced by a replica, the original was either stolen to order or someone got £5 scrap?
