Thanks, Jogon Phill, I reached the conclusion many years back that it must be the cemetery worker's who place the rose there as I just cannot see it being one of her family. I also read that despite the beautiful monument, her hubby wasn't a nice hubby.....

Sorry wrong here, it's was the Arthur Currer Briggs memorial.He lived at Gledhow Grange, wife died 1936 so guess Brackenwood was the garden?http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk ... urrer-brig
