Phill_dvsn wrote: It can be found on the corner of King Edward Street and Fish Street herehttp://g.co/maps/xxufzThe chap in the middle is Bacchus also known as Dionysus. The god of the grape harvest, winemaking and wine, of ritual madness and ecstasy in Greek mythology! I've been doing some research on King Edward House and in one source it said the three 'images' were originally put on "County Cafe and King Edward Restuarant on the corner with Fish Street. The latter can be identified by gold mosaic wall plaques high up, representing fish, game and wine". From the Old-Maps UK website there seemed to be no street where King Edward Street is up to an 1893 map but there is a King Edward Street on a 1908 map. That map also shows there was a lot of alteration to the area since the 1893 map. That map also has a P.H. (Public House) marked where King Edward House probably is. That was the same in a 1921 and a 1931 map. It was not until the 1964-1970 map in the Old-Maps UK web site that the scale was large enough to name King Edward Street, but that map also named King Edward House. I would guess though that King Edward House was surely built long before then.I've seen mentions of a pub to fairly recently times on King Edward Street that was probably where King Edward House is. Does anyone know when that pub closed?

King Edward Street was built 1898 -1902 according to Leodishttp://www.leodis.net/display.aspx?resourceIde ... LAY=FULLAs to when the King Edward pub shut, a educated guess would be the late 1950's
