They're linked - but why?

How well do you know Leeds?

The Regent Pub, Regent St Leeds (now gone I believe)sold beer.Ainsleys (may have changed), Infirmary Street Leeds.Sold sarnies pies etc. These two have something unusual in common (as the customers at "the time" would tell you).If this is obvious to you - please keep the kettle boiling. In relation to both:- I wonder if it either (or both) were due to one of our SL regulars?

Well, a bus ran into that Ainsley's a few years ago - I remember because some of my colleagues were on a training course in the building above the shop and heard the crash. No idea if a similar thing happened to the Regent though, but that's the only thing I know about the Ainsley's site.

I'm getting nothing through the telepathic ether, so I've no idea! I'm not a pubgoer but there does seem to be (or have been) a number of pubs called Reagent in Leeds. I'm probably wrong but wasn't this Reagent known as McGuire's (or something similar)? That Ainsley's is now a branch of Cooplands.

It was only a few months back that a car crashed into the bus shelter just out of view on the right. It took weeks before the shelter was repaired. It is such a blind corner approaching Infirmary Street that I'm surprised that there are not more crashes there with the speed some vehicles go at. Catching a bus fairly often there I've seen many very near misses where pedestrians cross at that blind corner.
