if you go to horsforth coming up from kirkstall theres a dirt track that leads to the old sewage works, which has closed down.its the turning, just before the tennis courts, which leads to newlay estate.the sites empty,or was last time i was there.i thing there going to build on it soon.maybe it might be worth somone taking a few pics,of how it looks now, before they build.when you get to the bottom of the track, just on the corner, looks like it leads knowhere it goes to the river aire, there remains of some old buildings there.just thought it might be of intrest to somone.if not carry on the walk,it leads to newly bridge and abby pub.also on newlay wood road that leads off it,if you walk up the ginnel, some great old houses, the place is full of history.you never know if you walk in the woods, you might find the kirkstall abby tunnel

Hello bramley13,I walked passed the area on Boxing Day.Further down the footpath from New Road Side, near the river,it's possible to look across theplace you've described. It's pretty overgrown even at this time of year but I saw what looked like a footbridge through all the brambles.
