Does anybody else remember the visit of a small submarine to Leeds in 1957?I am pretty sure of the date as I started working that year and to the best of my memory it was my first Saturday "off"The Sub was tied up just down stream from the bridge and had a crew of 3 or 4 including one intrepid (possibly foolhardy) matelot who having donned a full wet suit and mask swam across the river. It was somewhat polluted in those days and he did not enjoy the experience. I would love to see some photographs if anybody has any.
