Eastmoor Farm Adel.

Post by Leodian »

Passing by Eastmoor Farm, Adel, on November 14 2024 I noticed that there is work going on. The top soil had been removed from part of a field close to Tile Lane and some of that area has already been covered over by what looks like asphalt or a similar hard surface. Assuming that some use for that field has been approved I wonder what it might be for. I don't recall seeing any work there when I passed by on October 14 2024. I have attached two photos that I took on November 14 2024.

On November 22 2024 I went by Eastmoor Farm and noticed more of the field had been covered with a hard surface since I passed on November 14 2024. It's intriguing and would seem likely that there is some approved plan for the covered area but I've not been able to readily find out if there is.

Hi Tilly :).
As far as I'm aware there is no known Roman history where the farm is though there are such areas not far away as at Blackmoor and the possible Roman carving of Cocidius in the Alwoodley part of Adel Woods. The line of the suspected Roman road is not really close.
