There are numerous short streets with their long names, many of which could have been joined together and made into one,
St. Peter's Street/Duke Street.

Hmm ... time plays tricks. I could have sworn the bus station had the current stand configuration before 1996 but apparently it reopened in March that year. I could also have sworn the Playhouse was on the University campus beyond 1990 but it relocated to Quarry Hill in that year to a building on which construction began in 1987 So Chemimike's map is accurate for 89/90.

Wow there were lots of chimneys then! Left of the Yorkshire Pure Ice and Cold Storage building is a small bus station that I think was used by West Riding buses.

This is a map from 1906-ish. Dyer Street runs from York St to Marsh Lane then, so I's assume the same now perhaps and the modern map makers (google) weren't sure so made the with carriageway Dyer St and the north one St Peter's St!
