1940s Photos in Leodis of the Home Guard Platoon at the Whitehall Road power station.

Post by Leodian »

When looking through a 'Latest Additions' section of the Leodis website I came across 2 photos dated 1940s showing the Home Guard Platoon of Leeds Corporation Electricity Department at the Whitehall Road power station. Though both photos are historically extremely interesting the first one taken in front of the power station is quite impressive if only for the huge number of people seen! As it may have been hard to identify each person I assume the one identified may probably have been known to be positioned there!
