A tight squeeze for a crane (mechanical) off Duncan Street, Leeds.

Post by Leodian »

Passing by on July 11 2019 I noticed a large crane (the mechanical type, not the bird :)) being worked in a very narrow space off Duncan Street. It may have taken some impressive manoeuvring to position the crane there! I did not have my compact digital camera so I took the attached photo using my mobile phone so the quality is not that good.

I think the space is probably what remains of Mercury Office Yard that was there in at least 1850 but was gradually reduced over time. The space (it's like an extremely short street) has no name that I am aware of.
