The Leeds Riot map includes more recent riots such as those in Chapeltown in 1975, 1981 and 1987, but it also goes back to 1643 and the Civil War. You may, or may not, be pleased to know that South Leeds has played a prominent role in many of the city’s riots down the centuries.

Probably not really qualifying as a riot but I thought I would add this that is not in the link list:-

The following is reported in Mayhall’s 'Annals of Yorkshire' vol 1 published 1861.

July 14 1858. “About eight o’clock in the evening of July 14th, about forty or fifty men of the 18th Light Dragoons, stationed at Leeds, made a cowardly and outrageous attack on four policemen in North-street. They afterwards proceeded through the town, assaulting every policeman they met. Police officers Heaton and Bellhouse were seriously injured. None of the soldiers were identified.”
