Old Phone Book Searches

Post by LS1 »

I'm hoping that someone can help.... I noticed that some people seem to have access to old phone books on line and was wondering if anyone can share any links to phone directories for Leeds from the last part of the 20th century.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I get my access to the old phone books via my Ancestry subscription & these only go up to 1984

The old phone books I access are available via Ancestry.co.uk for which you have paying subscription.

I am sure if you ask in this forum one of us that has access to the phone books will be able to come up trumps for you.

I wonder if the detective agency still operates?

Is this the end of the story ...or the beginning of a legend?

They're not online, but Leeds Central Library has old printed phone books in the information and research section. The library computers also have free access to ancestry.co.uk, but they're often busy.
