Is This a Record.. Its black vinyl disc with a hole in the middle.
Could this be a record, In the mid seventies I used to buy a Vovlo estate car every 12 months from Lex Brooklands on Wellington bridge in Leeds and about 1978 I was going through Wortley in one 3 weeks old that began starting and stopping, I was trying to get back to Leeds bridge when I saw a Volvo sign on Copley Hill. I asked one of the lads if they would have a look. he soon found out it was just a fuse and when I asked him how much did I owe him his reply was "Give us some business sometime if you can" Not long after I began keeping my Volvo's longer and so took my car into them ( P.and R. Cars ) this was also handy as I used to spend my day off in the Beech pub on Tong Rd. opposite. I continued taking my cars to them when they moved to larger premises on Burley Place, under the Kirkstall Rd. viaduct. In the 1980s we moved to Bristol where my business was and I combined any repairs / services etc with a visit to Leeds to see my family. around 2000 we emigrated to the Costa Brava, bought a large house which in the summer when the weather is too hot we came back (In our Volvo estate) and rented out the Spanish house. that coincided with service and mots, and when we finally came home again six years ago we came to live back in the South West and nipping up for a service is still no problem.
So all in all That garage has looked after my motors for nearly 40 years and in all that time I have never had a problem with them, if there was anything more than just a routine service they would check and explain it I first. I could not praise this family firm any higher.
So any road up is there anyone out there who has used a garage longer ?.

When I was 6-7 years old my dad took me to his barbers shop call Alex hairdressers, near Neville Street.
when the buildings were demolished he moved to Water Lane.
Coincidentally for a short time I worked at Matthew Murray House, which was next to his salon.
I moved to Warrington and Alex retired, and Gary took over the business.
Gary moved to Bridge Road under the railway arches, then moved to his current premises on Domestic Street.
I have not been to any other barbers, even when I was at college in Kingston and now in Warrington I still see Gary for a haircut.
That means I have been using this business for 59 years.

In 1966 My partner in a carpet fitting business introduced me to Danny, a mans hairdresser who had a shop on the corner of one of the Bertha's next to the Richmond pub on South Accommodation road, both now demolished, in later years he moved to Selby Road and then up to Scott Hall rd. finally ending up for many years back of the Moortown corner Casino. when he retired last year told me if I did want my barnet cutting he would do it free at his place. so far I have taken him up on this when I have been in Leeds. obviously over the years we have become close friends so apart from a few times when I lived in Spain I have been a customer for nearly 50 years.
Not as long as Warringtonrhino but still a fair stint.
