Yesterday in Gloucester the Leeds Pipe Band in full Scottish regalia entertained the crowds both inside and out of the Kingsholm stadium before and at half time during the Japan v Scotland World Cup Rugby match. There had been a ban on pipe bands but this was lifted for the Leeds band only. The streets around the ground were heaving hours before the game and as they played each number was cheered .
There was extensive coverage here on our local T.V. stations down here and I felt proud each time Leeds got a mention.
Well done Lads, hope you are there when the Jocks play their next match.

Oops, Not being a Rugby Union Fan I don't follow it that closely, apart from England who I would want to win regardless. Now Elland Rd. that's a different kettle of fish, When the Football resumed after W.W.2 my brother and I were in the boys pen every home game.and have been a fan ever since.
So the Band will be home for tea on Sunday

I had read that there was a pipe ban so I wonder why it was lifted for the Leeds Pipe Band? Great publicity for them

Good morning Leodian.
Haggis we may never know the reason.
The World Cup Rugby people it seems have also banned rattles, large flags etc. from the grounds.

Ta. "The Old Ones Are The Best" 'tis said.
Mind you seeing the brawny arms, the ugly mugs, the hairy legs in skirts and knocking back booze here reminded me that they come from Leeds', I do miss those girls
