I've not been on Crown Street for a little while (but not that long) so I was surprised when there today (Jan 9 2015) to see this interestingly designed and decorated building with the wheels and nicely decorated rest of the building to the Call Lane end of Crown Street (in my surprise I forgot to check on the premise's name). It's good to see that the street is not been allowed to fall into neglect. In addition to a view of the building I have also added a view of Crown Street looking towards Call Lane that I also took today (I assume that the 'gas lamps' are just decorative :) ).

The red building with the two wheels in front of it used to be one of the best Fish and Chip shops in central Leeds, it was very small inside and used to steam up in the winter but I used to stop there often on my way from school as my bus stops were just at the opposite side of the road, ( Nos 5, 11, 15, 16 or 17 ).

I also remember a second hand vinyl record shop on that parade in the late 80's and early 90's and a clothes shop selling imported second hand demin and stuff.

I cannot understand how that area is now in decline, maybe the bars and clubs were charging too much and beliving they were french bars and the like but I used to think that this area would become one of the best social areas in the city centre.
