Although not entirely unexpected, it was still a shock hearing the news yesterday. In these days of plastic idols like posh spice and others, it only accentuates that Jane was a TRUE Legend. Her courage and strength are an inspiration to myself and millions of others around the world.I read her husband's blogs during the cycle ride from Italy to Leeds and again, during her cycle ride across the USA. The absolute agony she went through raising money for charity affected me greatly. She was a heroine to me and I'll admit to bawling my eyes out yesterday.R.I.P. "our" Jane - you deserve the peace, after all your pain. TRUE YORKSHIRE GRIT.Condolences to her family and friends.

I will have walked past it many times but had never noticed this plaque dedicated to Jane Tomlinson until I spotted it on January 28 2016 in Victoria Gardens near to the Art Gallery. Does anyone know when the plaque was put there? It does not seem like it's over 8 years since the inspirational Jane died.

"The plaque is situated in Victoria Gardens, on the Headrow in Leeds. Victoria Gardens became a key landmark for Jane and her fundraising with many of her epic Bike Rides including Rome to Home and Lands' End to John O'Groats passing through or finishing here.
Mike Tomlinson, Jane's husband said: "Thank you to the Yorkshire Society for thinking of Jane. It was such an honour for Suzanne and I to represent Jane today to unveil the plaque given where it's placed. Victoria Gardens is such an important place for the family and brings back a lot of memories for us.
"Watching Jane finish events here, and to see her legacy continue with the Leeds 10K finishing here and the Leeds Half starting in this very spot, is just fantastic."
