Does anyone know of anywhere that buys / sells in militaria collectables in or around Leeds? I have come into possession of a vintage Wilkinson British RAF Issue Type D Survival Knife and Sheath circa 1950s. I usually knock stuff out on Ebay or Gumtree but articles like this arent allowed. Thanks

Hi jonI have not passed by for some time but there may still be a shop on New York Street (on the left coming from the Markets, getting to the bus station) that sold stamps, coins, medals and other things. I think I have seen small military items for sale there, though I may be wrong. It may at least be worth checking out.

Thanks Leodian / Tilly, I think I know the place although I wasnt sure if it was still there since its been a few years since I last went there to sell a police riot helmet! I've also found out there is a large militaria fair at Pudsey civic centre on the 18th of May (next Saturday) I'm not sure how I might go about hawking a large blade round this fair though, I'm quite worried about getting stopped / arrested by the police and being charged with possession of an offensive weapon... tsk! I'm starting to regret getting hold of the thing. I had a similar problem a year ago when I was given the task of 'disposing' of an AK-47 assault rifle for a 'mate' and I had to run round all over the internet etc and have all kinds of dodgy types with weird accents phoning me up at 4am asking me if I had any 'rounds' with it... Dont ask! I managed to get a buyer eventually who met me at the motorway services between Leeds and Manchester.

I've just looked at the list of Active Threads and I think I must be getting tired as I initially read the title of this thread as 'Malaria in Leeds'.

There is a shop in Otley called The Ammunition Box, they sell army surplus/military stuff. It's on Mercury Row. They sell old uniforms and collectables, might be worth giving them a ring.

http://www.henrykrank.com/index.php?main_page=index Hi Bugblatter I think Kranks is no no I live in Pudsey I took two Webley Air Pistols plus a wooden gun case to get a price for them. The two pistols were old one from the fiftys and one older I will admit they had seen better days but both still worked. The wooden case was made to carry a Webley pistol and is from the fiftys the offer was twenty pounds I would sooner throw them in the bin than let them go for this amount.
