Brought up in Leeds.I always liked to listen to this guy in the old black and white documentaries, he had classic Leeds accent.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment ... 82331Never knew his son was Simon Hoggart who died recently.Piece in tonight's/yesterday's Evening Post about the man.

If you look in R.H.'s seminal book "The Uses Of Literacy" sitting on the step, feet in the street, is touched on 'In The Neighbourhood' of back to back houses. This is a pastime I indulged in until leaving Leeds for County Durham in2006.
