Everyone knows that we live in the original and best Leeds, but there are a surprising number of others Leeds' (Leedses? Leedi?) around the globe.Did you know that Leeds, Alabama (USA) was named after Leeds due to Portland cement..?"In fact, as a newly incorporated city, Leeds was named for the noted industrial city of England where a bricklayer invented the Portland cement process. The mineral findings brought Leeds Standard Portland Cement Company as well as population growth to Leeds. , Known today as Lehigh, this company has continuously operated since 1906."

I strongly object to Facebook listing Leeds as being in Kent by default. And also when using old maps it has Kent as the first option. I also think it's about time the River Aire was once again called the River Ledes when it flows through the City of Leeds and surrounding district

Didn't Leeds Castle feature on some memorabilia sold to tourists in Leeds (the real one)?I know it's not Leeds but I was amused to find Whitby and Scarborough next to each other in Canada. Now I'll have to go looking for Leeds.

I quite like the sound of Leeds, Utahhttp://
www.leedstown.org/Not only is there the Utah Saints link (surely they knew?), but a town full of people descended from Leodesians can't be bad can it?

There is alos a Grimsby not far away. When you go out in the countryside towards Niagra (not on the lake) the walls are all drystone. When our bus tour guide told us they were unique i felt it only right to correct her.
