ThanksIt really is dream-like.The monks, I suppose, kind of founded Leeds really. In a way the technology of the 1200's, tapping off and using water power cut into the natural level of the land is way ahead of our current and easily stopped set up.With that camera one could follow Goits, Mill Races etc and all the others that Jim once kindly defined on another thread herein.Kirkstall Abbey takes off a powerful head of water which diverges from the river at the weir by the Abbey and then runs power along by Kirkstall Road. Not sure where it rejoins. Also that camera gadget could also capture in detail Leeds' only island, at Kirkstall Nature reserve just downstream. What sort of lens + zoom power on there?

Thanks all. That sounds very intersting Jogon. Ill look that up on google and give it a whirl. I am keen to capture as much of Leeds from the sky as I can really. It gives a totally new perpective on things and one that people just don't get to see.The camera has no zoom at all, its a gopro hero 3 and it is very very light which helps. Thanks again

I just wanted to add my appreciation of the videos, druid1980.Jogon's idea of following mill races is, I think, an excellent one.

Well hello there. It's a really really really long stick. Nah not really. It's Mary Poppins. Not really its a quadcopter with a camera. Thanks for the messages and suggestions. I'm planning a full day soon with all sorts of different equipment to make something quite special. It may take some time but am quite excited about it.
