Does anyone remember the 30s and 40s when empty jam-jars were accepted as part currency for entry to the saturday cinema showsDoes anyone remember in the 30s and 40s when empty jam-jars were accepted as part payment for entry into some Saturday cinema shows? There was a picture house at the top of Beeston road - the name I don't recall, which was known as the "Flea Pit". I wonder why?Any ex- Cross-Flatts School pupils still out there? Teachers "Daddy Martin, "Basher Bates" "Joey Hustler". I left about 1942. Did my military service in Malaya.
