I've always been curious about this. What's the story about the Sandford area of Bramley? I basically know that it's where the Broadlea Estate is, but is it an old name for an area? I know of the Sandford Arms, and there's also a derelict building where a shop used to be on the roundabout at Broadlea Hill that still has the sign which reads Sandford Community Shop. Also, did it used to be a separate area to Bramley? It's quite interesting how Bramley is so large, and has smaller areas that make up part of it, like Moorside and Gamble Hill. Were these separate to Bramley proper as well?So does anyone have any information about this corner of Leeds, be it history or geography? It's just interesting how some people still refer to the area between Broad Lane and Leeds And Bradford Road as Sandford, and not Bramley, or even just Broadlea.

The name seems to go back to Sandford House a large House that sat part way up "Bramley Hill"Once an estate, a school, a community shop and a pub ended up being built there the House's name was used.
